Our Modeling Jocey

Spelling Fun

A new school year which always means nightly homework. I realize that I am a teacher but as a parent I think it stinks and takes to much of family time, but it has to be done. Braxton reminded me that he needed to study for his spelling test and we had already spent an hour doing his other homework so studying wasn't what he wanted to do. I decided to take out some shaving cream and make it fun...it worked he loved it and we went over his spelling words three times. Bayli also wanted to join in so she worked on spelling with us. This activity actually made our "studying" fun and not a fight before they went to bed. Not to mention they looked cute writing their words.

Jocey's New Home

I feel like I have been one of the luckiest mothers in the world. Jocey has been such a blessing in our lives over the last 18 years and now that she is gone, I have realized this even greater then ever before. She is now an official Wyoming Mustang and she is living in Rock Springs. She has wonderful people there with her, and such a bright future ahead; all she needs to do is remember that, and live by the saying on her bear made my Uncle Eric. Do WORK ! Jocey we love you and you will do great.

Rigby Lake with Lochlynn

Today Jocey, Me, Molly, and Bayli picked up Loch from her babysitters and took her to Rigby Lake. Loch LOVED the water, not the sand so much though. She was so cute to watch and Aunt Bayli loved every minute of taking care of her. We had to leave baby Trex at the sitters perhaps next summer we can take him too.

Red Fish Lake summer 2010

Almost every year since I was a small child my family, the Burtenshaw's have their reunion at Red Fish Lake in Stanley, Idaho. This year marked our 31st year of attending. We spent the time water skiing, laying on the beach, eating and eating again, campfires, ice cream bike rides, beach volleyball, wipe out obstical courses, hikes, random bike rides and best of all just enjoying each others company. The Burtenshaw crew exists of 88 family members and 66 member were in attendance, pretty good for 4 generations worth.

Ostermiller House Aug 3rd 2010

I decided since my household is going to change so much this weekend that I would snap some random photos of what my children were doing today. Each one doing their own thing like usual. Mason acting cool, Braxton playing games, Bayli playing dress-up on the computer, and Jocey packing for college (this photos isn't the norm, but has become the norm over the last week).

Tammy's 20th Year Class Reunion

As dumb as it sounds, I was actually very nervous to attend my class reunion. I had a great time in high school but since I graduated in 1990 I have only seen a handful a my classmates. Twenty years is a long time and so many of us have changed, perhaps changed for the better...there is definite wisdom in age.

Miss Ruby Sue

Over the last few weeks Jocey was chosen to be a photograph model for a company called Miss Ruby Sue. The photographer is still waiting official payment and then she will remove the water marks and turn the photos over to the company. Jocey has taken several photos but we are awaiting the final product so far. I am very bias but I think Jocey would make an amazing magazine model.

Jordon's 20th Birthday Party - the Pord

Jordon's Birthday Party. Jordon turned 20 years old on July 24th, and we had to still celebrate it even if he isn't here physically anymore. The morning started out like every 24th of July has..the amazing St. Anthony Parade. Kathy, and her children, Kristi and our family plus Molly watched the parade praying the entire time it would end soon, but glad the tradition is still alive. We then spent the afternoon wanting to float the river but no tubes so we Rigby Lake had to do. It was a lot of fun the McFarlands joined us there and before we knew it we needed to leave so we could make it back the Grandma Carols for Jordon's birthday celebration. We all sang Happy Birthday to Jordon, prayed, and toasted him hoping he could feel of our extra LOVE and HUGS on his birthday 6,000 miles away. Happy Birthday Son WE LOVE YOU!

Another Driver

Mason completed Drivers Ed this summer. One of his many requirements was to change a tire. He is actually a pretty good driver but the new rule is, all teens unless 18 have to drive with their parents for six months with their permit and then they can be on their own. So those of you that drive watch out Mason will be official January 16, 2011.

Vegas with the girls

Jocey, Carp and I decided to take a girls vacation after Jocey graduated. We ended up spending four days in Vegas. We definitely enjoyed the heat, laying by the pool and shopping but most of all resting our tired feet after walking for miles and miles and miles..... Vegas is a cool happening place but not like the tropics that is for sure. Good company made for fabulous times but next time girls vacation will happen way down south.

Rexburg Temple

A few weeks ago, there was a large fire out west of town. It burnt more than 30,00 acres and left the sky amazing hues of purples, blues, and reds. At little scary to tell you the truth but beautiful. My sister-in-law took this photo of the Rexburg Temple.

The Missionaries

Jordon and Mark are both out serving the Lord and we couldn't be happier. Mark is serving in Mexico and Jordon is in Brazil. We have only received a handful of emails from him so far and it sounds like he is doing great. The last time he came out of the Temple he saw green parrots sitting on palm trees....how cool would that be.
